My name is Melynda Rush and I am a Power Selling Mom of two great kids...my husband and my 8 year old son! LOL!

I have been a member of eBay since 2004 and have been selling full-time on eBay since July 2005.

The way I got started on eBay is I had a brick and mortar Power Sports retail store and my idol who is also my best friend, "my Dad", one day told me about selling on eBay.

So I decided to give it a try and listed a few things, then became hooked!

I eventually began to make more money selling on eBay than I did opening my store everyday, so I eventually listed everything I could by opening a store on eBay using the inventory from my Brick and Mortar store and now I realize I made the best decision ever!

I have since expanded from selling not only Power Sports apparel and parts n accessories to selling virtually anything like Avon products, home decor items, jewelry, Barbie Dolls and more!

I also make custom logos, store banners, custom listing templates and sell a great wholesale list of places to buy wholesale merchandise from, so that others can get in on the eBay Selling fun!

I became a Silver level Power Seller after my first 3 months of selling on eBay and have been able to maintain my Power Selling Status ever since.

I have learned to market my eBay business everywhere I can and I am so excited that it has grown to be as successful as it has!

One day, I discovered eBay groups and later on started my own eBay teaching group, "Getting Started on eBay and Improving". I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others about eBay so much that I eventually became an Education Specialist trained by eBay University so thatI could teach others in a live setting in my area.

I am very thankful to my Dad for letting me in on the eBay information and I feel that making eBay my full-time career has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love what I do and I love to spread the word to others!

eBay has given me the freedom to spend more time with my family by being able to work from home and has given me a great chance to make an extra income to buy things for my family to enjoy!

I have gained a large amount of friends from eBay from all over the world & Danna is one of the awesome friends I made while being part of eBay. Her motivation and drive is just phenomenal! She truly is an inspiration to more people than she probably will ever realize!!

BUT this time my heart was touched as she include a creation that her daughter made as a Thank you
to me for buying her Bear Book!
I thought it was SO SWEET!
I put it on my eBay wall by the side of a Suncatcher she made for me a few months ago!

eBay is Shoplifting Free

I had to laugh this weekend as my friend Louise, aka: Herbs-Crafts-Gifts made a comment that I loved:
"In eBay you don't have to worry about shoplifting!"

Is that COOL or what?

As sellers on eBay vs. selling at the flea market or a brick-and-mortar store, there are always a couple shoplifters helping themselves to a few items here and there. Many times at the end of the day while unpacking the van, I could recall items missing.

I can remember chasing a guy through the flea market once in Chicago when he lifted something off my table. Then as I was running after him I was thinking at the same time, "What the heck am I going to do if I catch him?"

I mean really, I'm not wonder woman or anything.
I did have some Karate in college but he could hurt me, geeesh!

Once I realized that I stopped chasing him. It was not worth a few bucks lost vs. risking my life.

Louise was right on about her comment.

Think about it ............
No one can reach into our virtual shelves and run off with our eBay items!

Well, I may feel like it sometimes when an item slips through the cracks for 99 cents,, lol
But 99 cents is still better than a chase through the store isles!

An eBay Seller Provided a Loving Personal Touch to my item

I just had to blog about this and share this story!

I bought a Christmas Ornament from the Charity event hosted by the eBay Selling Tips group "Ornaments for Charity Campaign" AND, this amazing eBay seller went above and beyond by providing a few little EXTRA sweet gestures.

The first brilliant little thing she did was:
She simply printed out the packaging slip through PayPal on colored paper.
Folded it very nice to make it look professional. Then she put a pretty ribbon around it and taped it in place to also include a decorative sticker.

She wrote a THANK YOU by hand on the front.

Next she printed out a lovely poem on a heavier stock of paper. To enhance the poem she included a PIN with a rose on it.
The Card read:

The Story of The Rose

God created the rose for women.
It represents beauty.
Its petals represent soft skin.
Its leaves represent out stretched arms.
Always loving and giving.
Its stem represents strength.
So, I give this rose to you.
For you are special to me.
Every time yo look at the rose,
Remember that you are SOMEBODY!

Nobody!!!!

Last but not least ........
She included a Baggie!
Inside this baggie is a bunch of Mini Marshmallows,
a Mini Candy Cane and a package of Hot chocolate mix.
She included a card on top , also printed out on a heavier stock of paper.
It reads:

SO YOU'VE BEEN REAL GOOD THIS YEAR??
SANTA WILL BE GLAD TO HEAR IT.
WITH FREEZING WEATHER DRAWING NEAR
YOU'LL NEED TO WARM THE SPIRIT.

COMPLETE WITH STIRRING STICK
ADD HOT WATER, SIP IT SLOW
ITS SURE TO DO THE TRICK!

This is a great example of how powerful a few simple little things we can do that are very inexpensive and yet will have a lasting impact on our customers.
