Move em In Move em Out Life Goes On

No matter what kind of business you are in, whether you work for someone else or are self-employed, staff members over the years have had an impact on your life in one way or another. It may have been a first time job, a student aid a co-worker or even a customer, someone along your professional path has been an influence in your life.

I’ve been selling my way through eBay for about 13 years now and I must say how my life has greatly changed along with the world’s largest online marketplace.

I’ve loved and admired so many of the members. Including fellow eBay sellers, employees, staff and even the CEO’s!

As my career has grown and I’ve climbed up my personal ladder of eBay success, I must say that the most recent employee I watched say goodbye to eBay was yet another one that had touched my life was Mr. Garnor Morantes. I am kicking myself now that I didn’t make the time to have him as a guest at PowerSellingMomRadio.com.

I had met Garnor at eBay live in Boston, 2007 and that is where my eBay life changed. Since I am an eBay “Groupie” which means I was a frequent participant of the eBay group platform, the first stop on my agenda at eBay live was to sit in on the eBay group presentation and that was where I met Garnor. He was the presenter along with Mathew (who is also no longer at eBay) and I remember sitting there listening to Garnor speak thinking, WOW this guy is amazing! He glowed with confidence as if he was meant to be a public speaker. Long story short, after the presentation, he asked me for my business card and the rest is eBay history!

When I first caught wind of Garnor leaving eBay all I could think of was OMG OMG what is eBay thinking? This is a man with a HUGE gift! He has the gift of compassion and communication. His leadership skills are amazing! I can’t imagine why a company like eBay would allow him to leave? I know he had visions for eBay groups and there was so much more for him to contribute to the eBay community. He was such an asset to the company and to many people that he has helped over the years. WOW!

But for me, as an eBay cheerleader I can only ponder and be thankful that I had the honor to meet yet another loving soul in this place we call life!

The eBay Giving Works Traveling Charity Bag TRAVELS ON

The Traveling Charity Bag auction was launched last year shortly after attending eBay live 2008. This bag was part of a give-away from eBay Giving Works at a little Cocktail party during eBay live where I was issued the 2008 Golden Ribbon Award, Community Seller from eBay Giving Works (you can watch the video below)
MEANWHILE, I listed this bag during the campaign STAND UP TO CANCER to be a part of this amazing cause in remembrance of my father that lost the battle to rectal cancer. This horrible disease needs to be STAMPED OUT.

I listed the bag on eBay and an eBay Employee won the bag at $208.00 with 100% going to: Stand Up To Cancer.

The bag also included a Journal. And the idea was for the winner to sign the bag, write in the journal and list it back on eBay for Charity. The new winner would do the same and the Traveling eBay Giving Works bag will continue on raising funds for different charities using the eBay Giving Works Platform!
Another WIN WIN situation for all involved!

Since I've become involved with eBay Giving works a few years ago, I've always felt this platform is way overlooked by many in the eBay community. I teach the classes locally here in Ocala Florida, helping nonprofits as well as eBay sellers. I recently taught a 3 week class for Hospice Staff showing them how they can sell items on eBay and donate a percent back to Hospice by using the eBay Giving Works platform.

FOLLOW ALONG the path of the Traveling Charity Bag!
Auction ends April 29th:

I will blog about and follow the adventure of each stop this bag makes! So, anyone that wins the bag, CONTACT ME and I can blog about YOU TOO!

Sad day when eBay Employees say goodbye

My heart goes out to all those employees that lost their wonderful eBay jobs.
I can only imagine what each of them must be going through.
I wonder if any of them will start selling on the site?
Was just a thought.

Will they be angry you think?
Leaving will be tough for some.
I bet it will be hard for those staying to watch those cubicle's being taken down and cleaned out. Watching them move out and wondering if they themselves could be next?

I think it will be a sad day in eBay Land when those laid off officially leave. Almost like a funeral.
My heart breaks for those effected. I do wish them all the best and do hope they will continue to climb up the ladder of success.

Kind of like when my neighbor was laid off from Ford of Ocala. They gave 75 people their walking papers. She is struggling now looking for a job.

News like this has forced me to lay down my Pom-Poms for the day in their honor. Wishing all those eBay employees heading to the unemployment line, the very best.
