___ MILK ___

MY Goodness!
I went to the corner to get a gallon of milk and it cost $4.14 !!!
IS THAT CRAZY OR WHAT????
All I could think about is how in the WORLD are the single parent's making ends meet?
If they are paying for GAS to drive the kids around, making minimum wage and then a gallon of milk a day like most people with kids go through,
HOW can they make ends meet???
When my kids were small we went through a Gallon of milk a DAY easily!
How much is milk in YOUR area of the woods?
I said to the clerk, WHAT Florida has NO COWS we have to import it from France or something??? Will Milk become a luxury item now?
I bet many are going without or they have to ration the milk drinking in the house because of the price.
Makes me sick to think about children going without milk.
What can we do about it?
Any ideas LET ME KNOW I will be a part of this protest!

Depending on where you shop, milk is between $1.99 and $4.99 here. Also depends on what KIND of milk you get, as we have a few specialty dairies in the area that sell their own milk in the local grocery stores.

Here in Ohio milk is still pretty cheap. I can get a gallon of milk at walmart for about $2.48 and every couple of weeks Meijer has milk on sale for $1.99 a gallon. When I lived in Virginia milk was close to $4 a gallon and never went on sale.

At the corner Store , ALL Gallons of Milk were that price. I bought 2% and it was the same as whole or skim too. Sometimes I was told we can get it at Walgreens for $2.49 but I dont live by one. AND if thats the case, why can't all stores be reasonable about the price? Makes me mad that they can get away with it!

I'm in the dairy state, surrounded by dairy farms, and our generic milk is up around $3-something a gallon. Rediculous!

In NJ there is a special program for low-income parents, to help with food essentials like milk.

You live by the dairy and still have to pay that much? Oct-23-06 08:38:15 PDT |
But, even the low income, if they DO HAVE income of some sort, they do not qualify for the programs. Well I know that WIC program is pretty good for those with SMALL children but what about those with TEENS??? A growing boy will drink a gallon a day just by himself,, lol |
Our milk in TX is around $3.60 - $3.99
